St. Michaelis Church, colloquially called the Michel, is one of Hamburg's five Lutheran main churches, located in Hamburg-Mitte, Germany. Built of brick in the Baroque style and purpose-built as a Protestant church, it is considered one of the most important Protestant Baroque churches in northern Germany. Its copper-covered spire, about 132 metres high, has long served as a landfall mark for ships sailing up the Elbe.
