St. Peter's Church (Lübeck)
Lübeck's Old City, Germany

Demolished or destroyed.
St. Peter's Church (St. Petri zu Lübeck) stands in Lübeck's Old City, Germany, a brick Gothic church first mentioned in 1170 and rebuilt several times until its completion in the 15th century. Its five-aisled hall plan gives the simple interior a strong sense of space. Severely damaged in the Second World War, it was restored by 1987, but its furnishings could not be restored, so it now hosts mainly cultural and religious events and art exhibitions, including an altar cross by Arnulf Rainer and a neon cross by Hanna Jäger.
