St. Pölten Cathedral, dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in St. Pölten, Austria, built of brick. Begun as an abbey church around 1150 in the Romanesque style, it was re-cast in the Baroque style after a fire in 1621, so it appears Baroque despite its late Romanesque core. It has been the episcopal seat of the Diocese of St. Pölten since 1785. Its architect is given as Jakob Prandtauer.
