Built between 1905 and 1911 in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, Brussels, the Stoclet Palace is a Vienna Secession masterpiece designed by Austrian architect Josef Hoffmann for Belgian financier Adolphe Stoclet. Considered Hoffmann's finest work, this luxurious mansion exemplifies the *Gesamtkunstwerk*—a total work of art—through its sumptuous dining and music rooms, which orchestrate sight, sound, and taste in sensory harmony. Hoffmann's meticulous attention extended even to designing a dress for Madame Stoclet to harmonize with her interior surroundings. Privately owned by the Stoclet family and largely inaccessible, the palace remains one of the twentieth century's most refined private residences. It received protected monument status and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009.
