The Arg of Tabriz, also called the Arg-e Alishah or Masjid Ali-Shah, is the remnant of a large acropolis fortification, city wall and mosque in downtown Tabriz, East Azerbaijan, Iran. Built in the 14th century during the Ilkhanate era, it was conceived as a compound with a great vaulted mosque whose ayvan was meant to exceed the Taq Kasra at Ctesiphon, though its mausoleum was left incomplete. Listed on Iran's National Heritage List since 1932, it is built of brick and mortar and stands about 28 metres tall.
