Demolished or destroyed.
The Taganskaya telephone exchange, built in 1929 in Moscow's Basmanny District, was a constructivist architectural landmark that served as a functional communications hub during the Soviet era. Designed in the geometric, machine-age aesthetic characteristic of early Soviet constructivism, the building exemplified the period's modernist approach to industrial architecture. It remained a candidate heritage site in Russia until its demolition in 2016, marking the loss of a significant example of interwar Soviet telephone infrastructure architecture.
