The Teatro Faenza is Bogotá's oldest movie theater, opened on April 3, 1924, on the site of a former ceramic factory—the building's namesake. Designed in the Art Nouveau style, it screened a French film at its inauguration. Designated a National Monument of Colombia in 1975, the theater subsequently fell into disrepair before undergoing restoration from 2004 to 2007, returning the historic venue to its former grandeur.
