The Temple Church stands between Fleet Street and the River Thames in the City of London, a Grade I listed Romanesque building within the Inner and Middle Temples. The Knights Templar built it for their English headquarters and consecrated it on 10 February 1185. It is known for its round plan, a common feature of Templar churches, and for its 13th- and 14th-century stone effigies. It is now jointly owned by the Inner and Middle Temple Inns of Court.
