The Temple of Caesar, or Temple of Divus Iulius, was an ancient Roman temple erected in the Roman Forum near the Regia and the Temple of Vesta, dedicated to the deified Julius Caesar around 2 BCE. The structure commemorated Caesar's apotheosis following his assassination, and its remains—particularly the altar—have endured as a pilgrimage destination where visitors leave flowers and offerings and observe special commemorations on March 15, the anniversary of Caesar's death.
