Demolished or destroyed.
The Crystal Palace was a cast iron and plate glass structure in London, designed by Joseph Paxton and built in Hyde Park in 1851 to house the Great Exhibition. It held the greatest area of glass ever seen in a building, with clear walls and ceilings that needed no interior lights. After the exhibition it was rebuilt at Penge Peak in South London, where it stood from 1854 until a fire destroyed it in November 1936.
