The Hermitage is a museum and former plantation about 10 miles east of downtown Nashville, in Davidson County, Tennessee, and a National Historic Landmark. Built in 1835 in the Greek Revival style, it was owned by President Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States, from 1804 until his death there in 1845, and it is his final resting place. Enslaved people, numbering 110 at Jackson's death, grew cotton, the plantation's main cash crop.
