The Knickerbocker Hotel stands on the southeastern corner of Broadway and 42nd Street at Times Square in Midtown Manhattan. Built by John Jacob Astor IV and opened in 1906, it is designed largely in the Beaux-Arts style by Marvin & Davis, with Bruce Price as consultant. Its red brick and terracotta facades are topped by a prominent mansard roof. The building is a New York City Landmark and a National Register of Historic Places listed place.
