Located at Franklin and Maple streets in Millbrook, New York, the Thorne Memorial School is a distinctive brick Beaux-Arts structure erected in the late nineteenth century. Built at the expense of a wealthy local resident who donated it to the community, the school's construction prompted the village's formal incorporation. It functioned as the village's high school until 1962, after which it transitioned to special purposes and afterschool activities. Recognized as the most distinctive public building in Millbrook, the school was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996 alongside an adjacent blacksmith's shop.
