The Thunderbird Lodge in Chinle, Arizona, is a historic motel and the sole lodging facility within Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Evolved from a trading post established in 1896, the lodge incorporates Pueblo Revival architectural elements and continues to serve visitors to the national monument, which was established in 1931.
