The Primatial Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Toledo, Spain, and the seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Toledo. Begun in 1226 under Ferdinand III, it is one of three 13th-century High Gothic cathedrals in Spain and was modeled after Bourges Cathedral. Built of white limestone from the Olihuelas quarries near Toledo, it was finished in its central-nave vaults in 1493 and is popularly known as Dives Toletana.
