The Tombul Mosque, officially known as the Sherif Halil Pasha Mosque, stands in Shumen, Bulgaria, as the country's largest mosque and one of the largest in the Balkans. Built in 1744, it represents Ottoman architecture at a significant scale, comprising not only the main prayer hall but an extensive külliye—a complex of associated religious and civic buildings around it. The entire ensemble constitutes the largest mosque complex in Bulgaria by both area and architectural significance, earning recognition as a cultural monument of national importance when it was officially designated in 1975.
