The Town Hall of Bremen, seat of the President of the Senate and Mayor of Bremen, stands in the Mitte district of Germany. It is one of Europe's most important examples of Brick Gothic and Weser Renaissance architecture. Protected as a historical building since 1973, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2004, together with the Bremen Roland statue, for its architecture and its testimony to the development of civic autonomy in the Holy Roman Empire.
