Located on Beaverdam Road in the Town of Montgomery, Orange County, New York, the Tweddle Farmstead began as an early-nineteenth-century dwelling built by Bercoon van Alst. The house received its defining character in the 1830s when substantial Greek Revival additions were made, creating the front facade visible today. Thomas Tweddle acquired the property in 1868, and it remained within his family thereafter. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
