Ulriksdal Palace is a baroque royal palace on the banks of the Edsviken in the Royal National City Park, Solna Municipality, about 6 km north of Stockholm. Hans Jacob Kristler built it in 1638–1645 as a country retreat for Jacob De la Gardie, who originally named it Jakobsdal. Queen Hedvig Eleonora bought it in 1669, and its present design is mainly the work of Nicodemus Tessin the Elder from the late 17th century.
