Union Church is a white frame building erected in 1876 and located 2.5 miles southeast of Oreana in Macon County, Illinois. Its design synthesizes Greek Revival and Italianate architectural elements. Constructed as a non-denominational house of worship, the church served multiple community functions beyond Sunday services, hosting a school, Temperance Union meetings, and social gatherings including Christmas and New Year's parties. The building retains a functional pump organ installed in 1879, originally purchased for the Temperance Union. An adjacent cemetery, whose earliest burial dates to 1842, underscores the site's long community significance. Religious services ceased in 1936, after which the building became available primarily for weddings and an annual Memorial Day observance. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 23, 1999.
