The US Post Office-Arlington stands in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia. Designed and built in 1937 under Louis A. Simon of the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, it is a one-story, pentagonal brick building in the Georgian Revival style, with a dome on four fluted limestone piers rising above its entrance portico. Its interior holds murals by Auriel Bessemer, including scenes of Captain John Smith and Robert E. Lee. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
