Demolished or destroyed.
Urquhart Castle is a ruined castle beside Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands, about 21 kilometres southwest of Inverness. Its present ruins date from the 13th to 16th centuries, built on an early medieval fortification site on Strone Point. Granted to the Clan Grant in 1509, it was partially destroyed in 1692. The five-storey Grant Tower stands at the north end of the castle, and the site is a scheduled monument.
