Demolished or destroyed.
Valmagne Abbey is a former Benedictine, later Cistercian, monastery near Villeveyrac in Hérault, south-central France, and a designated historic monument. Founded as a Benedictine abbey in 1138, it was attached to the Cistercian Order by decree of Pope Hadrian IV about twenty years later. It escaped demolition after the Revolution and was sold intact in 1791. Its abbey church was then converted into a wine cave for maturing wine in large barrels, a use it continues today.
