Verdala Palace stands in the Buskett Gardens within the limits of Siġġiewi, Malta. Built in 1586 during the reign of Hugues Loubenx de Verdalle, and designed in the Renaissance style by Girolamo Cassar, it is now the official summer residence of the President of Malta. It was previously a residence of the British governor of Malta, and British sovereigns and other royalty often stayed there during their visits to the island.
