Verona Cathedral, also known as the Duomo di Verona, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Verona, northern Italy, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary as Santa Maria Matricolare. It is the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Verona. Erected after an earthquake in 1117 destroyed two Palaeo-Christian churches on the site, it was built in the Romanesque style and consecrated on 13 September 1187. Later renovations modified it, though its plan has remained unchanged.
