Villa Le Trident is a Modernist villa built in 1925 by American architect Barry Dierks on the pointe de l'Esquillon in Théoule-sur-Mer on the French Riviera, designed for Dierks himself and his partner, Colonel Eric Sawyer. The villa's creation marked a turning point in Dierks' career; its bold modern design quickly captured the attention of sophisticated Riviera society seeking fresh architectural voices, and within years Dierks had become one of the coast's most sought-after architects. The villa's distinguished guestbook testifies to its prominence in high society, recording visits from Picasso, Somerset Maugham, Noël Coward, and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.
