Located on rue Louis-Majorielle in Nancy, the Villa Majorelle is an Art Nouveau masterpiece designed by architect Henri Sauvage and built in 1901–1902 as the home and studio of celebrated furniture designer Louis Majorelle. One of the first and most influential examples of the Art Nouveau style in France, the villa served as a living showcase for Majorelle's innovative furniture and the decorative arts of his contemporaries, including ceramist Alexandre Bigot and stained glass artist Jacques Gruber. Now owned by the city of Nancy and classified as a historical monument under the Maisons des Illustres program, the villa remains open to the public by reservation for guided tours.
