The Villa Medici is a sixteenth-century Mannerist villa and architectural complex on the Pincian Hill beside Trinità dei Monti in central Rome, set within a 7-hectare Italian garden. Its architects were Annibale Lippi, Nanni di Baccio Bigio and Bartolomeo Ammannati. Founded by Ferdinando I de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany, it is now property of the French State and has housed the French Academy in Rome, welcoming winners of the Prix de Rome since 1803.
