Villa Tugendhat is a pioneering modernist residence in Brno, Czech Republic, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich and completed in 1930 for Fritz and Greta Tugendhat, members of a prominent Jewish Czech family. Built of reinforced concrete, the villa exemplifies the Neues Bauen and functionalist movements through its revolutionary spatial organization and innovative use of industrial materials. Its influential design established it as one of Europe's earliest prototypes of modern architecture, earning recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001 and designation as a national cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
