Perched 733 feet above the Columbia River on a rocky promontory at Crown Point in Oregon's Columbia River Gorge, Vista House is an octagonal stone structure designed by architect Edgar M. Lazarus in the Art Nouveau style and completed in 1918. Originally conceived as both a scenic viewpoint and comfort station for travelers on the Historic Columbia River Highway, the building has evolved to serve as a museum and memorial to Oregon pioneers. The site underwent a comprehensive five-year restoration beginning in 2000 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
