Built in 1868, the Old Warren County Courthouse in Bowling Green, Kentucky exemplifies the Italianate style and was celebrated upon completion as Kentucky's finest post-Civil War courthouse of that architectural mode. Located at 429 E. 10th Ave., the building cost $125,000 and was constructed over 1868–69, a substantial investment that reflected the city's prominence as a commercial and educational hub in south-central Kentucky. Though its interior has undergone significant remodeling, the exterior remains virtually unaltered, retaining its original character. The courthouse sits within a courthouse square framed by a Victorian iron fence with limestone posts. The building earned National Register of Historic Places designation in 1977.
