The Washington Park National Bank Building, located at 6300 South Cottage Grove in Chicago's Woodlawn neighborhood, is a Neoclassical structure completed in 1924. Designed by Albert A. Schwartz, the building underwent significant revision during its planning phase: initial designs unveiled in 1922 proposed a nine-story tower with construction slated to begin that August, but the architect modified the scheme, presenting the final design in 1923. The executed structure reflects the restrained dignity characteristic of Neoclassical bank architecture of the early twentieth century.
