Watts Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, was the city's first hospital, opened in 1895 and funded entirely by George W. Watts as a private, 22-bed facility for Durham's white citizens, with free care for those unable to pay. It became public in 1953 and closed in 1976, when Durham County General Hospital opened. Its 1909 campus was later converted for the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, which began classes in 1980. The building is a National Register of Historic Places listing in Mission Revival style.
