Wawel Cathedral, formally the Archcathedral Basilica of Saint Stanislaus and Saint Wenceslaus, stands on Wawel Hill in Kraków, Poland, within the Wawel Castle Complex. Its current Gothic church, begun in the 14th century on the orders of Bishop Nanker, is the third edifice on the site, and successive rulers added Romanesque, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassical and Neogothic elements. It is the official seat of the Archbishop of Kraków and the coronation site of Polish monarchs. Its golden-domed Sigismund's Chapel is especially notable.
