Winkel van Sinkel is a department store at Oudegracht 158 in Utrecht, Netherlands, and a Rijksmonument. Built between 1837 and 1839, it was the first department store in the Netherlands. The company began as a fabric store in Amsterdam, and the Utrecht branch's wide range of merchandise made "Winkel van Sinkel" a general Dutch term for shops selling all kinds of goods.
