The Winslow Crocker House in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, is a Georgian-style dwelling built around 1780 for a wealthy 18th-century trader and land speculator. In 1936, antiques collector Mary Thacher relocated the house to its present site and remodeled its interior to showcase her extensive early American furnishings collection. Thacher stripped original woodwork, installed smaller-paned windows, and rebuilt a fireplace with a beehive oven, transforming the structure into a colonial Cape Cod house with deliberate 20th-century interpretive touches. The collection encompasses furniture spanning Jacobean, William and Mary, Queen Anne, and Chippendale styles, complemented by hooked rugs, ceramics, and pewter. Now owned and operated by Historic New England, the house functions as a historic museum.
