Würzburg Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany, dedicated to Saint Kilian and serving as the seat of the Bishop of Würzburg. Begun in 1040 and built in brick in the Romanesque style, it is a masterpiece of Salian-period German architecture and, at 103 metres long, the fourth largest Romanesque church building in Germany. Later contributions include work by Tilman Riemenschneider and Balthasar Neumann. Heavily damaged by British bombs in March 1945, it was rebuilt after the Second World War.
