The Zafaraniyeh Caravanserai, located in Sabzevar County, Iran, is a historic waystation that reflects the architectural traditions of multiple Persian dynasties spanning from the Seljuk through the Qajar periods. Built primarily of brick and plaster, the structure bears witness to the layers of construction and renovation characteristic of caravanserais that served merchant routes across the Iranian plateau. Though its origins may trace to earlier Seljuk work, the building as it survives today bears the imprint of both Safavid and Qajar-era modifications and use. Recognized as part of Iran's national heritage since 1985, the caravanserai stands as evidence of the architectural and economic significance of these trading centers in premodern Iran.
