The Abram Gaar House and Farm is a wooden Second Empire-style mansion built in 1876 in Richmond, Indiana, and now operates as a historic house museum. Designed by prominent local architect John A. Hasecoster, the home was commissioned by industrialist Abram Gaar, president of Gaar-Scott and Company, a major manufacturer of steam engines and threshing machines. The construction, which cost $20,000 and took eight months to complete, resulted in a substantial residence positioned on a rise overlooking Richmond from the north. Hasecoster's original architectural plans, drawn on linen sheets, are preserved and displayed at the house, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
