The Witwer House is a two-story brick residence built in 1876 in Rockford, Illinois, designed by architect O. H. Wheat for alderman and merchant Benjamin Witwer and his wife. The house exemplifies the Italianate style that flourished nationally during the 1870s, featuring a three-sided bay window centered on the front facade, a recessed front porch, and tall arched windows and doors. A cross-gabled roof with Gothic-inspired decorative woodwork beneath the gables crowns the structure. A brick carriage house, constructed in 1879 with design elements echoing the main residence, stands on the property. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2021 and remains a private residence.
