The Academy of Arts on Hanseatenweg, Berlin, is a brutalist complex designed by Werner Düttmann and completed in 1954 as part of the Hansaviertel ensemble in Mitte. Originally conceived as a multipurpose venue, the building complex functions as a theatre, cinema, and convention center. Its austere concrete forms and massive sculptural volumes exemplify the architectural language of brutalism, and it stands today as a designated architectural heritage monument.
