The Albert and Mary Shekey House, built in 1885 in the town of Koshkonong, Wisconsin, is a Queen Anne style residence clad in clapboard that reflects the popularity of that architectural mode in the late nineteenth century. Constructed for Mary Shekey—daughter of two of Jefferson County's earliest settlers—and her husband Albert, an engineer for the Chicago & North Western Railway, the house features characteristic ornamental details including a projecting bay on its east side, an irregular cruciform roof with multiple hips and gables, decorative brackets, a frieze board with carved circles below the eaves, and Dutch gables with wooden shingles. The house's architect and builder remain unknown. Its location near Lake Koshkonong and the Koshkonong Place hunting lodge suggests it may have served as a summer retreat or rental property, though the Shekeys' primary residence was in Janesville. The house was added to the Wisconsin State Register of Historic Places in 2014 and to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.
