The Alfred M. Bergere House at 135 Grant Avenue in Santa Fe is a single-family adobe dwelling constructed in the 1870s as an L-shaped structure. Originally built in a modest adobe form, the house was redesigned in the Pueblo Revival style during a 1926 renovation, giving it the architectural character it retains today. The residence gained historical prominence when it housed General and former President Ulysses S. Grant, his wife, and their daughter during their 1880 visit to the area. Significant as one of only two surviving officer's residences from the Fort Marcy Military Reservation and as home to a politically and socially prominent New Mexico family, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
