The Amazon Theatre stands in Manaus at the heart of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest, an opera house completed in 1896 during the city's prosperous rubber boom era. Built in an eclectic style with Renaissance influences, it now hosts the annual Amazonas Opera Festival and serves as home to the Amazonas Philharmonic Orchestra, which regularly performs alongside choirs and musical concerts within its walls. The theatre has been recognized by Vogue magazine as one of the world's most beautiful opera houses and is protected as a heritage asset by IPHAN and listed by COMPPAC.
