Anderson Chapel, also known as St. Paul's Episcopal Chapel, stands in Swanton, Garrett County, Maryland, as a modest but characterful example of Carpenter Gothic architecture. Built in 1882, this one-story frame church features the style's hallmark board-and-batten siding and a gable roof, design principles that had been popularized by architect Richard Upjohn during the nineteenth century. The chapel was recognized for its historic significance when it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
