The Bank Melli Iran Tehran Bazaar Branch, completed in 1945, exemplifies Pahlavi-era modernism in the heart of Tehran's historic commercial district. Designed by architect Mohsen Foroughi, the eleven-meter structure synthesizes contemporary construction techniques with traditional Iranian decorative sensibilities, employing reinforced concrete, travertine, tile, mosaic, and cement. The building stands as a banking landmark that reflects the architectural ambitions of Iran's mid-twentieth-century modernization, merging functional institutional design with the ornamental vocabulary characteristic of its era.
