Located in the Ciutat Vella district of Valencia, Spain, the Royal Basilica of Our Lady of the Forsaken is a baroque and Renaissance structure completed in 1700 that serves as the sanctuary of the city's patron saint. The church received its basilica designation through a papal brief signed by Pope Pius XII on April 21, 1948, and is venerated not only as the spiritual center of Valencia but also as the patronal sanctuary of the entire Valencian Community.
