Located in Armentia, a neighborhood of Vitoria-Gasteiz in Spain's Basque Country, the Basilica of San Prudencio de Armentia is a 12th-century Romanesque church that stands as one of the most significant examples of medieval art in Álava. Originally dedicated to Saint Andrew, the basilica lies along the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. Though substantially refurbished in 1776—a reform that destroyed portions of its original structure—the apse and other isolated elements survived. The building sustained further damage when its vault partially collapsed in 1961, prompting major restoration work. Despite these interventions, the basilica retains enough medieval character to merit its designation as Bien de Interés Cultural in 1931 and Basque Cultural Heritage in 2012.
