Berchtesgaden Hauptbahnhof is a railway station in the Bavarian market town of Berchtesgaden, notable as the smallest town in Germany to possess a main station. Built in the Heimatstil architectural style, it serves as the terminus of the Freilassing–Berchtesgaden railway and is classified as a category 5 station by Deutsche Bahn. The station features five platform tracks and receives approximately twenty daily trains operated by Deutsche Bahn and the Berchtesgadener Land Bahn. Historically, it also served as the starting point for the Berchtesgaden–Hangender Stein railway, popularly known as the Grüne Elektrische ("Green Electric"). The nearby Triftplatz once housed the former Königssee Railway station, which provided access to the Königssee lake. The building is recognized as an architectural heritage monument in Bavaria.
