Big Meadows Wayside, a rest area in Page County, Virginia, was designed by architect Marcellus Wright, Jr. and completed in 1939. Built in the National Park Service rustic style characteristic of Depression-era public works, it served travelers along what is now Skyline Drive. The structure exemplifies the architectural philosophy of blending structures harmoniously into their natural landscape through the use of native materials and forms sympathetic to the surrounding environment. Today it is recognized as a contributing property on the National Register of Historic Places.
